Claude for Excel

Claude for Excel is an add-in that lets you talk to your spreadsheet in plain language. You write what you want to do, and Claude reads, understands and changes the spreadsheet for you.

What can you use it for?

The most useful part is asking questions about your data without knowing the formulas. Write "what is the average revenue per region" and Claude builds the formula. Ask for a chart, and Claude makes it. Claude can also explain complex formulas with cell references, so you actually understand what is going on in the sheet.

If your spreadsheet has errors, Claude can find and fix #REF!, #VALUE! and circular references. It shows you what was wrong and what it changed.

Claude handles workbooks with several tabs and formula dependencies without breaking anything. Every change is clearly marked.

Claude can also build complete, usable workbooks for you from a plain-language description. You can ask for a forecast for next year where you give it input on accounts, accrual periods, assumptions and so on, and Claude puts together the whole package so you get going quickly.
