ChatGPT Work is OpenAI's agent, launched on 9 July 2026. Where ordinary chat answers you, Work takes on the task itself and keeps going until it is done — it can stay with a single project for hours by breaking it into smaller steps.
You give it a goal, not an instruction. Work pulls context from your apps and files, goes online to fill the gaps, and delivers an actual artefact: a spreadsheet, a presentation, a report, a simple web app. You bring in a source by typing @ followed by the service name — Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, SharePoint, Teams, Salesforce and a number of others.
